Presented by Hudson Library & Historical Society.
Acclaimed by the New York Times for “concerts and recordings [that] are journeys of discovery,” Baroque ensemble Les Délices combines readings from poems and literary works with evocative sonatas and instrumental fantasies by François Couperin, Jean-Féry Rebel and others in a new program for HLHS. Excerpts from d’Urfée’s romantic epic l’Astrée, Homer’s Odyssey, and Ovid’s Metamorphoses will transport listeners to an enchanted island, the sculptor Pigmalion’s studio, and the resplendent world of the Baroque theater.
